The Secretary of State has today (8 June 2015) directed that Maldon district council’s emerging pocal plan is submitted to him for his approval. This is to test whether the planning inspector has taken a proportionate and balanced view on the local plan as a whole in the light of national planning policy.
The National Planning Policy Framework sets out that Local Plans should be positively prepared, justified, effective, consistent with national policy, and based on proportionate evidence.
